That's easily the best or second best of the lot, along with "Willow Hole Native".

Some of these being voted highly don't even fit the theme of the contest, and/or aren't very intersting photos, IMO.

And no, none of them are mine, nor was I in this contest at all, nor do I know who any of the photographers are, let alone identify them with their photo.

15. Thanks! But here's the deal - I wish people would comment more.

I wish people would comment more in these threads, offering their opinions and critiques on the photos. That's the only way that artists learn and grow, and the only way that we, as viewers, come to understand how the art is affecting others. I'd love to hear from the sleeping girl voters why they voted for it - maybe no one is voting for it because it's "cute" but because they see something compelling in it. I see nothing compelling in it all, neither on its own, nor especially in relation to the contest theme. But, we'll never know, because the people said nothing.

I would love to see these contests become more than just anonymous voting, but an actual discussion and conversation, like one would have at a gallery or a real-life art judging experience.

So, that's why I offer my comments in these threads - hoping to spur more people to do it. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be working.

30. I don't usually say who I voted for, but "Girl With Her Cat" is an awesome

photo. I think my favorite part is the askew book. This could have been me as a child. It brings me back to the best of my girlhood: cats, reading, and napping. :)
