2. I am happy they came out good
another try to make close-up shots. I really was scared they would come out blurry.

5. They smell?
:bounce: I know that sounds silly ... but whenever harleydad buys me roses, they never have a nice smell. But the roses we grew always had nice smells. These must be the smelly kind. :9 It would be nice to be inside a building of those! Nice, natural rose fragrance! :loveya:

6. Not all of them smelled
but a lot. So it was a light rose smell within the building. Loved it.

26. Modern roses like hybred teas aren't noted for their scent
There are exceptions like Fragrant Cloud, but if you want the knock your socks off scent, you have to go with the Old Fashions like Albas, Gallicas, Rugosas, China Teas, etc.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for posting them.

30. They had a lot of different roses in that show
as I don't know the names of roses, I don't know which were showed and which weren't.

41. I'm sure there were Old Fashions on show
They're coming back in favor, so rose nuts are demanding them again.

10. Beautiful
I miss growing them - even with fungi, insects, fertilizing, constant trimming and all. There are so many different kinds, colors and scents - good reward for the work.

22. Hey MissHoney!
I've been very busy getting ready to travel. It took most of the day to find a safe affordable place to stay. Sugar Smack's Father called me on the 21st saying that he was worried about us going to New Orleans at this time because the National Guard has been called-in. Daddy Sugar Smack ask if it was possible for us to go somewhere else. I haven't been able to reach Miss Smack since our brief conversation on Monday morning so I made an executive decision yesterday to change our destination. I started checking everything along the coast from NOLA eastward. :banghead: After trying 1/2 different locations I gave up and went for a listing of all_of_the_hotels in the Keys. Then I spent the afternoon comparing and checking for an available reservation. The challenging part is July 4th is almost here and lots of the vacation spots are already booked. Finally I was successful!
It's within walking distance of the Lorelei www.loreleifloridakeys.com
The place is an efficiency with the cutest little kitchen. I'm going grocery shopping later after long lunch  celebrating Cherie's birthday today. I'll have the truck packed before bed tonight. Who knows where I'll sleep tomorrow night.

I missed you too.

I didn't think Ghana and Australia would continue, but I knew that US wasn't getting past the 1st round. The 2nd round will be much fun. :)

Ghana and Australia where a surprise. But Ghana is playing against Brazil next. I guess that will be their last game in this World Cup.

and dragging in the morning. I record the games so I can see them later. I watched (in addition to doing chores and late runs and training) 'til past 12 midnight Brazil vs. Japan, Netherlands vs. Argentina, France vs. Korea to name a few. Go football/fussball/futbol/voetball!

to kick a goal in 90 minutes, the Elfmeter (eleven meter) is the answer. And that is always interesting and a nerve breaker  Either top or flop

33. Thank you so
much for sharing your pics with us. I especially like the fifth pic. I'm not familiar with rose names, but that one is just beautiful, intriguing.

I too love to take close-ups. I'll have to down load some pics and share someday.

I've been lazy today. Still in my jammies, and been procrastinating. But my mantra is, i will get some chores done today

35. Hey Simply
so nice you showed up before I vanish into my weekend. I will leave the town and visit a friend.

You have all right to be lazy today. And chores can be done other days as well :D

I would love to see your pictures. I am fairly new to close-ups. Only doing them since last Christmas. So most of them still get blurry. But the roses turned out beautiful.
