Calling classical music fans.

The classical music groups has never really been one of the most "happening" places, but the gentle pace there has slowed beyond its usual Lento and as such the Admins currently think that it is defunct (not unreasonably).

If folk want to keep it going then post some comments in threads, or start new threads, and let Skinner know in the thread which he has posted.

If anybody's in the mood for a flame-war over there, I'm soooo totally up to defend authentic performance against all comers - Glenn Gould was a fool, and his recording of the Goldberg Variations is little short of a sick-joke. :P

I can't disagree with you. I admire his technical facility, offbeat interpretation that occasionally work, but the breathing and moaning drives me nuts. He sounds like a teenager huffing paint.

On the other hand, if you want to argue about whether mordents in the Classical period should be on the beat or ahead of the beat, then.....

4. I responded to a thread and also put in a request to keep CMG.

It's been frustrating to see how very slowly some of the groups move (and I'm in quite a few where you can hear crickets chirping most of the time), but I am willing to try CMG again.
