Anyone read the followup books to Pride and Prejudice?
I was a fan of the book and the PBS miniseries with Colin Firth...(I hated the hollywood version)

So I just finished Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife...and now am reading Darcy and Elizabeth...and they are quite good...especially for summer reading.

1. I read one, but I don't recall the title.
I adore Pride and Prejudice, but did not enjoy the book that I read. (I think it was called Pemberly or something similar). The tone was just wrong.

Also - after reading "Scarlett" after Gone with the Wind - I've mostly given up on sequels by other authors. The voice is just not the same.

2. there's a pretty good mystery series out now, too...by
Carrie Bebris. The first one is "Pride and Prescience", then "Suspense and Sensibility" and "North by Northanger". I've only read the S&S one, and while a little far-fetched, it was enjoyable b/c the author incorporated the some of the characters from "Sense & Sensibility" - Elinor and Edward Ferrars, Colonel and Marianne Brandon...

Who wrote "Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife" and when? I looooove Jane Austen, and always like to revisit the lives she created.

The A&E P&P is definitely the very best, though I did enjoy the most recent one with Keira Knightly. Some of the scenes between Darcy and Elizabeth were very intensely emotional (when he tells her he loves her near the end -- A&E is great, but I thought sometimes Jennifer Ehle was too perky as Elizabeth, though Colin Firth is perfect in that role) and I liked that.
