Who's you favorite frontman? Let's see some video.

Singing ability is great, but who puts on the best show, the most magnetic personality, has the best moves, etc. irrespective of voice, or songs even.

Extra points for obscurity here. Who do you want the world to know about?

Here's my favorite: Terence Trent D'Arby - who, shades of Prince, was forced to change his name to escape the corporate prison that major label artists are often forced to contend with. He now goes by Sananda Maitreya, which I fear I will never be able to remember or spell.

This guy is amazing, writes his own stuff of course (great lyrics); plays almost all of the instruments on his CDs (but unlike Prince has the good sense and humility to bring in specialists, rather than force us to listen to his (Prince's) mediocre lead guitar playing); he's very intelligent with an inwardly searching personality; AND THAT VOICE!!!.

But we're talking about frontmen, and TTD is the best there is IMO. The guy is just so genuine, and it shows. He's really enjoying himself up there on that stage. His moves look to be very spontaneous. The guy's a natural.

And God, that body ... makes me want to go for a workout.

3. Dan Reed Network...

I saw a video back in the 80s I guess by these guys and thought it was great. I can't find it now, of course. But I bought one of their CDs and hated it. I don't much like this song or the other one on youtube, but Dan Reed is a heck of a front man.

Naturally, I'm biased, but I really do think he's a great rock star.
