There's no fires, and I'm not cooking ;o), so it must be trying to tell me something else!

I pulled the battery out because it was driving me nuts, but I need to find out why it was beeping.

3. Thanks. I was guessing that, but we just replaced the battery
when the time changed to DST, so I thought I was guessing wrong.

4. Was it a "heavy duty" battery?
If so, I know those are advertised for low drain devices but they really suck and I wouldn't recommend it for anything. I use to work in a toy store and the only people who bought them either didn't want to believe me when I said they sucked (yet they'd often come back the next day and try to return them :eyes:) or were buying a gift and wanted to give the cheapest batteries they could find with it.

7. Just a 9 volt Energizer. BTW, I agree with YOU!
My hubby and I fight about this all the damn time! I buy a bulk package of cheap AA batteries because my keyboard, mouse, digi cam etx all use the same size. He keeps telling me I'm crazy, and I should spend the $$ on "good ones" like Duracell or Energizer. It seems like his theory got blown away with this smoke dector this year!

5. That there are randome 3-second fires popping up every minute or so.
Maybe you have a dragon and don't know it.
