Poorly lamb is nursed by labrador

Larry the Labrador nurtures Barry the lamb back to health

A poorly lamb is being nursed back to health by a labrador.
The animals are being looked after by Selwyn Demmy at the animal hospital he set up at his home in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire.

Larry the dog was lonely after his twin brother Hardy died a few months ago, and took to Barry, who was weak, distressed and had sore legs.

Mr Demmy, who helps care for unwanted pets and distressed animals, said the pair are now inseparable.

"I know they are a bit of an odd couple but that's what's nice about it," he said.

"They will no doubt be the best of friends for the rest of their lives."
