3. Thanks for the reminder! I usually put it on my syllabus
for the summer session, but forgot to this time.

Did you see the Olive Garden insanity I started? All I did was ask where to eat in Manhattan this weekend and poor ol' Radio Lady suggested the Olive Garden in Times Square!

8. I've actually been there
I was at a conference. I wanted somewhere close, cheap and fast. I know people poo poo the place, but I LOVE their salad. I missed the insanity.

14. says who?
The same idiots who always say that winter does not start until Dec. 21st. I would tell each of those idiots that if Dec. 1st is not winter, then why don't you spend the whole day outside without a coat? Then come back and try to tell me through your frozen lips that it's not winter. Same with summer. When the air conditioners are on consistently and people are wearing shorts, then it's summer. I don't care what the calendar says. If it feels like summer, and it does so EVERY year after the middle of May, then IT IS SUMMER.

Sorry, but this media idiocy of "It's been 90 degrees plus for weeks now, just like every year, but it's now the first day of summer" and the same stupidity that happens every winter is a pet peeve of mine. And the equinoxes don't mean anything either. They are just equinoxes and these are just solstices.

18. true
which would be the 2nd reason. Seasons are going to depend more on the latitude and other climate factors than they do on calendars. My experience is just for the American midwest where it will be high 80s and low 90s starting in late April with our brutally hot sun. And it will be in the 20s 30s and 40s (or below 5 for you Canadians) starting in late November. It has been consistently hot here for almost two months, except for two cold snaps.

9. come on home to green river...
Well, take me back down where cool water flows, yeah.
Let me remember things I love,
Stoppin' at the log where catfish bite,
Walkin' along the river road at night,
Barefoot girls dancin' in the moonlight.

I can hear the bullfrog callin' me.
Wonder if my rope's still hangin' to the tree.
Love to kick my feet 'way down the shallow water.
Shoefly, dragonfly, get back to your mother.
Pick up a flat rock, skip it across Green River.
Welllllll!

Up at Cody's camp I spent my days, oh,
With flat car riders and cross-tie walkers
. Old Cody, Junior took me over,
Said, "You're gonna find the world is smould'rin'.
And if you get lost come on home to Green River."

Welllllll!
Come on home.
