9. I like Hers by Muscle and Fitness most months.
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 05:13 PM by Cobalt Violet
For a women's magazine it's pretty good. This month's issue sucked though, too much fashion. Usually they are more fitness oriented.

11. I hear you.
Sometimes M&F is too "Men's Health" and more about fashion, lifestyle and what's cool to buy.

Have you checked out Oxygen? I, myself, don't care so much for Robert Kennedy, considering some of the trash that gets put in Musclemag Int'l in regards to women, but I hear it's a valid publication.

14. No problem. I'm hoping
that at some point Steve Blechman's group (Muscular Development) puts out a periodical geared towards women. More of a no bs, "here's the reality and deal with it" kind of thing. Doubt it'll happen as it's a small market.

16. Your right, it's a very small market.
Hers is only 6 issues a years and I think it's struggling with that. I don't even think it is available by subscription, any issue could be the last.

It would be nice to have something like you talked about even if it was bi-annually.

What other magazine gives you a free DVD with each issue???

Free pull out posters
Free Manga
and a chance to win Free stuff each month.

THIS IS THE BEST ANIME MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD.

My second favorite is GIRLPOP, but they have stopped printing them.
Not sure why. This magazine featured some of the top Jpop bands coming
out of Japan, Like HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOR featured on this cover;

18. I don't have any "must read" magazines, but I still like to read...
...Scientific American. I also love the New Yorker still, although the greatest years are probably passed.

Discover isn't half bad for public science news sometimes.

I don't know that I'd call it a magazine exactly, though it's on the magazine rack, but there's a beautiful little publication called "New American Paintings," which shows interesting art work from regions in the country.

It shows paintings like this:

19. Don't laugh, but I like "Oprah"
It's a good mix of fluff and substance. She has terrific writers like Annie Lamott contributing. Plus, it always features an inspirational woman (someone fighting for human rights in a terribly oppressed country, for example).

I actually got a subscription after I kept picking it up in doctors offices and then taking it home.
She does a decent job, really. I think it's a nice compromise between style and substance,as you said.I mean, I AM a girly-girl sometimes too!
