16. I have only spent two afternoons in Richmond.

This was in the spring of 1989 or 1990, when I was organizing all the little crap for a gubernatorial candidates' forum between Doug Wilder and somebody else for a national senior citizens' organization. Can't remember what the well windowed building where the forum was held is called. Do remember meeting the candidates and witnessing yet again that awful "smile and get through it" personal opacity that naturally afflicts public persons.

Hope to make it again some time.

Congratulations on the 500th mile, by the way. I missed that thread despite intentions to the contrary. That's a lot of swimming.
