What are you listening to today??
Some old Fogelberg seems to suit today, especially "Captured Angel"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Captured Angel

Found your heart and lost your lover
Lick your wounds and run for cover
Take your time,there'll be another
And don't make the same mistake twice
Unless you can pay the price

All the years that you spent in growing
End up one more line you're towing
Don't look now but your age is showing
And it's much too late to turn back
You better pull in the slack

(Chorus)
Captured Angel
Aching to make your break
Your freedom's at stake
You better fly now...
Fly now, fly now
While your wings are still young
Your cage door's been flung wide open...
And I'm hoping you see
That there's a place beside me
If you ever need it

Sold your dreams
For sweet salvation
Left with righteous indignation
Now it seems that you face starvation
And nourishment doesn't come cheap
You better go back to sleep
(Chorus)

3. Robert Carver (or possibly Carvor)
Missa Dum Sacru Mysterium

Though part of me wants to sit and watch The Dukes of Hazzard on D.V.D. which would somewhat end the music.

10. He is wonderful, One of my most favourite of his is ..
For my Wedding.

For my wedding, I will dress in black
And never again will I look back
Ah, my dark angels we must part
For Ive made a sanctuary of my heart

To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day

For my wedding, I dont want violins
Or sentimental songs about thick and thin
I want a moment of silence and a moment of prayer
For the love well need to make it in the world out there

To want what I have
To take what Im given with grace
For this I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day

I dream, and my dreams are all glory and light
Thats what Ive wanted for my life
And if it hasnt always been that way
Well, I can dream and I can pray
On my wedding day

So what makes us any different from all the others
Who have tried and failed before us
Maybe nothing, maybe nothing at all
But I pray were the lucky ones; I pray we never fall

To want what we have
To take what were given with grace
For these things I pray
On my wedding day
On my wedding day

My husband printed this out on parchment paper and tied it up with a strip of leather as part of a christmas gift for me ... He's such a romantic, I'm having it framed to hang in our newly renovated den.

 CP
I hope you're well!!

15. My dear auntAgonist!
Lovely lyrics.....I haven't heard the song, but those lyrics are great!

And how sweet of your husband to give them to you in that form!

Not all husbands are so romantic.....

I am well..so far.....

Further tests will happen next Friday, and I will have a thread on the results when I get those.....

Thanks for asking! :loveya:

7. I'm cruising UTube and picking stuff semi-randomly today...
My fave finds so far:
A really BAD sitcom pilot called "Super Nerds",
starring Patton Oswalt, Brian Possein, and the always-lovely Sarah Silverman...

And a six-minute video of Neil Young and DEVO doing "Hey Hey, My My".

11. Once I'm done listening to my body frement...
You can look but you can't touch
I don't think I like you much
Heaven knows what a girl can do
Heaven knows what you've got to prove

I think I'm paranoid and complicated
I think I'm paranoid, manipulate it

Bend me break me
Anyway You need me
All I want is you
Bend me break me
Breaking down is easy
All I want is you

I fall down just to give you a thrill
Prop me up with another pill
If I should fail, if I should fold
I nailed my faith to the sticking pole

I think I'm paranoid, manipulate it
I think I'm paranoid, too complicated
Bend me break me
Anyway you need me
All I want is you
Bend me break me
Breaking down is easy
All I want is you

I think I'm paranoid
I think I'm paranoid

Bend me break me
Anyway you need me
All I want is you
Bend me break me
Breaking down is easy
All I want is you

Steal me, deal me, anyway you heal me
Maim me, tame me, you can never change me
Love me, like me, come ahead and fight me
Please me, tease me, go ahead and leave me

Bend me break me
Anyway you need me
As long as I want you baby it's alright
Bend me break me
Anyway you need me
As long as I want you baby it's alright

21. Musically..

Wussy - Funeral Dress: this is genius! Even genre-breaking. It was so good I put it in my best of 2005 even though I'm so far out from that list. It came out at the very end of 2005. It has elements of alt-country, folk, rock, and Americana, all rolled up into a unique style.

Regina Spektor - Begin To Hope: also a great CD. Starts with 3 lovely pop songs, and the rest show her to be like a more indie Tori Amos or Fiona Apple.

Sonic Youth's - Rather Ripped: took a few listens, but my verdict is I like it.

Some samples from:

Camera Obscura - loved what I heard
Scott Walker - hated what I heard (made me cry, but for how bad he is. To me, the most hip music and critically acclaimed music often isn't the best)
Guster - the new one, Ganging Up on the Sun, sounds like no slump. Keep It Together is a fave of mine.
