I am meeting with the candidate today. It does not seem likely that the job will be full time, but I might be able to secure a part time job as a campaign coordinator.

I also might have a job as a counselor. This would be a full time job with benefits and everything.

11. I've been volunteering on local campaigns since 1999

and I ran for office in 2001.

This year looks like it will be a good year for the dems in NYS.

So I called up locals that are running for the assembly and the NYS Senate. One of them is interested in hiring me as a part time political consultant.

Basically, I will be
- organizing the petition process (in order to get on the election ballot, a petition needs to be signed by 15% of the registered dems in the district)
- assisting with policy via issue research (all politics is local) - both dems and pukes agree on a lot of shiite - my job is to sell the dem version as better then the GOP version.
- generating a letter writing campaign (free press events)
- organizing house parties
- orchestrating the GOTV effort

I would have been doing a lot of this anyway... now I will get paid to focus my effort on a single campaign.

14. Well, I was running a Town wide campaign for 5

democratic candidates (Town Supervisor, Tax Assessor, Clerk, and two councilmen). I was the campaign manager. One of our town candidates got a DWI charge, and dropped out of the race. I was appointed by the nominating committee to fill this spot. So basically I ran for town board.

The primary day for this race was September 11th, 2001. I have a whole story about that.

I know NYC canceled theirs and had it two weeks later.
