My daughter (19) and 5 of her friends are having a cookout in the backyard. The guys like to set things on fire and blow things up...

The badminton net is up, I just saw bubbles floating past the window and the burgers are on the grill.

Her boyfriend's brother helped me find a spot in the front flower bed for a wisteria plant and white antique iron trellis I bartered from a friend. I've loved wisteria since I lived in the south and now I have my own. :)

I found out today that I made the first cut for the CFO position at a large non-profit here in town - a job I didn't think I had a prayer at getting.

So, all in all, things are very good.

25. A friend has a gift shop/garden center on her property

I work there every weekend so I can barter for "stuff" I wouldn't normally buy. It's where I got all the perennials for my house. She's always in the market for good quality, USA artisan made items. 17. After we have the burgers

we go visit the 4 bull calves in the barn. There's a weird situation... They're the owner's nephews' 4-H projects for this summer and they're a hoot. We hear them mooing at the oddest hours.

I'm about 30 miles outside the city on a 30 acre farm. I live on one acre with the house and garage and the owner farms the other 29. It's wonderful out here.
