Why use "High Quality Green Tea" if yer gonna "high fructose corn syrup"?
I forgot that Arizona tea is all shit, and in a weak moment bought a gallon of it.

I'd failed to remember, in that moment of weakness, that not only do they over-sugar it, they overdo it with that godforsaken high fructose corn syrup.

So why even make iced tea out of green tea if you're gonna add sugar to it at all, and especially if you're gonna use high fructose corn syrup? Why not just brew with low quality green tea, since everything that makes the green tea "high quality" is gonna get destroyed anyway?

Fucking companies and their processed foods and America's addiction to sugar and shit.

Fuck you, Arizona Tea Company, and Fuck You, America, for your addiction to crap.

2. Well, there is China
Although technically that's not green tea. "Only fucked up capitalist technocrats that arose from a fascistic imperialist god-emperor state that are big into cartoon porn actually LIKE green tea anyway" is much more precise.

15. Seriously the best tea I ever had
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 10:55 PM by scoey1953
Was called Pu-Erh. Its considered a "Black or Brown" tea. Doesn't have an acid taste. Is smooth and mild. Great for Ice and Hot tea. Needs no lemon or sugar but Hard to find..unless you live in Northern California.

8. Of the 30 or so bottles of different cranberry juices at the store,
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 05:29 PM by Rabrrrrrr
only one doesn't have HFCS or even regular corn syrup. Only one - only one bottle of cranberry juice has no added sweetener at all, other than the grapes that are mixed into it.

Granted, cranberry juice needs a sweetener of some kind, but still, it's fucking ridiculous - I think we need to work, as a country, to make HFCS illegal or at least seriously frowned upon, requiring manufactures to put a big "WARNING: CONTAINS HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SUGAR" label on the front of every product.

11. isn't the US pretty much the only country that uses HFCS in everything?
everyone else uses either cane sugar, or cane juice.
And, HFCS taste too sweet to me.

14. More than likely we are, yes. We're pretty much the only country
that likes fake shit over the real thing, and would rather pump our bodies full of cheap chemicals than eat naturally.

19. North of the 49th
we rarely see it in foods - though I admit I don't eat much junk or processed stuff.

I was quite shocked when I bought a pop made in the US at a health food store, and guess what was in there? They market themselves as "a healthy alternative to soda pop". (their quotes, from their website) Yet they all have HFCS in them.

It did taste extremely sweet, and that's why I checked the ingredients in the first place. Guess what I won't be buying ever again...?

17. You curse America for your weakness and idiocy?
Do you really mean to say that it's the fault of all these fucking stupid americans that you bought some worthless shit? Did your own not-inconsequential brain not enter into the equation at any point? Because that would mean that you depend upon morons for guidance. And if that is the case, I leave you to your fate.

22. you are right
The HFCS IS in everything....even ketchup. I googled it the other day and the medical problems with it are super bad. I frankly think that's why we Americans are getting so fat. Our bodies don't recognize the corn syrup as sugar and therefore does not produce the needed insulin to process it. It floats around in our blood stream and then goes to the liver to be made into fat. I've been checking the labels on stuff more, too.

23. That's why, for the most part, I only shop the outside aisles at the store
Though one does need BBQ sauce occasionally, and of course things like vinegar and tonic water and mustard and coffee have to be gotten from the center aisles.

But I try to avoid all processed, boxed, canned, or frozen (except veggies that are just frozen veggies) foods otherwise.

28. I don't like it with sugar, either.
Some English teas are good with a bit of honey or cream, but I pretty much only drink Japanese and Taiwanese teas and drink them unadulterated.

And I don't add sugar to my iced tea, either. And neither do the Chinese, Asians, or Japanese (for the most part: there are certain sweeter iced teas with special kinds of names and functions, but normally, no sugar or honey or anything else is added).

29. I eat no HFCS
I stayed for a week with 2 vegans and they agreed at the end of it, my diet is tougher than theirs. I can only drink water, wine, and beer (for cold drinks) unless there's a hippie store nearby. Even most cocktails have HFCS!
