Poll question: How do you Cross Your Legs when you Sit???
There is scientific evidence that the way you cross your legs has direct relationship to your intelligence, confidence and sex appeal!

Their are 4 ways to cross, plus left and right.

Knee over knee (or above knee)
Leg or foot over knee (or above knee)
Intertwined - foot hooks around ankle
Yoga/Indian Style

If you are ambidexterous and do it one way more than half the time you must choose that side (I.e. 55-45%)

I will share these stunning scientific findings later in this thread!

2. FYI - Stop crossing your legs. This is one of the worst things
you can do to your legs. Bad for your veins, bad for circulation, also causes foot and ankle swelling.

13. Yeah, crossing ankles but not legs just makes no sense in a short skirt...
I remember one time my sister was wearing a short denim skirt and she had been at her boyfriend's grandparents house earlier and when I described the print on her panties, I told her I hoped she hadn't sat like that in front of them.

4. Usually right ankle on left knee.
I'll often sit right knee over left knee but only if I can figure out a polite way to shift my junk first.

6. Constantly shifting.
The nearest to a default would be right knee over left knee - but that would still represent less than 20% of the time, at a guess.

7. I'm always shifting
My most comfortable position is a half-baked yoga style, with one leg hanging down to the ground, and the other tucked up underneath it on the chair seat.

9. Left foot over right knee.
I used to sit left knee over right knee, then a girl in my sixth grade class told me that only girls sit like that. (Funny, I see guys do it all the time, but whatever... ) She said guys sit like this: (foot over knee) That's how I've crossed them ever since.

19. Some facts about leg crossing..
Never point the bottoms of the feet in the direction of another person in Thailand or cross your legs while sitting, especially in the presence of an older person.

Crossing Legs May Prevent Fainting - Study: Leg Tension Increases Blood FlowAccording to a Dutch researchers, a combination of leg crossing and muscle tensing may help prevent fainting, providing a simple solution for people prone to fainting during emotional stress or prolonged standing. The study, published in Monday's rapid access issue of Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association, is the first of its kind to document the effectiveness of leg-crossing to prevent or delay loss of consciousness. http://www.themilwaukeechannel.com/health/1645261/detail.html

In Japan, when sitting on a chair, it is impolite to cross your legs. Whenever you're talking to someone who you don't know well or who is senior to you, you should not cross your legs.

A national survey sponsored by Pharmaton found that almost half of the female respondents cross their legs while seated, even though 75 percent of them know that it's bad for them (21 percent of the men surveyed cross their legs, and 45 percent know they shouldn't). This habit could lead to all sorts of problems, including minor swelling around the ankles and increased pressure inside the veins, says Luis Navarro, director of the Vein Treatment Center in New York, who is quoted in Pharmaton's press materials. Navarro says leg-crossing can lead to varicose and spider veins. "Leg-crossing has become second nature for many women, but they should just say 'No' to the behavior as a simple first step toward keeping their legs healthy," he states.

Barbara Drew, Ph.D., a specialist in cardiovascular nursing and an associate professor at the University of California at San Francisco, says there is no medical evidence to suggest that crossing your legs is unhealthy -- let alone that it will lead to varicose veins -- unless you already have a preexisting condition like heart disease. She says the worst that can happen to the normal person is a little swelling if you sit a long time with your legs crossed -- as on a plane ride. "Before it gets bad enough to damage tissue, you're going to start feeling symptoms that are uncomfortable, like your leg going to sleep," she says. "People take care of it naturally by shifting their position, rather than consciously thinking about it."
