Okay, I went to see "The Omen" today. Not my choice, wife's turn to pick.

Okay, I went to see "The Omen" today. Not my choice, wife's turn to pick.
My take: this was basically a scene-by-scene exact remake of the original, except with lamer actors.

The guy who played the dad (Liev Schreiber) was a total stiff, Gregory Peck had it all over him.

Julia Stiles was actually okay, but I'll still take Lee Remick...

The kid who played Damien was terrible, or directed terribly. He just had one goofy, pouty expression, that was it.

I kind of liked Mia Farrow as the creepy evil nanny.

Almost every scene played out exactly as I remember from the original except one near the end, that had a slight difference in details.

I expected it to be horrible, but it was just "meh". (Exorcist 4, now THAT was walk out of the theater horrible.)

1. I agree with those who say...
that the problem (one of them, anyway) with the remake is that the new kid just can't look not evil. I mean, it's supposed to be a secret that he's the son of satan, but he looks purely satanic nonstop.
