Name the Kitty
I'm "adopting" this 4-year-old female (apparently she is a "talker"). Any thoughts on a name - possibly something amusing?

1. My Friend Named His Dog Beyonce
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 07:12 AM by AccessGranted
Name the cat after a celebrity you like or don't like. How about one of the oldtime celebrities. When I looked at the cats face I was thinking Marlene Dietrich. Here a Wikipedia link to a pic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marlene_Dietrich

Name it Marlene or Dietrich. This actress was famous for her so-called cat-shaped eyes or name the cat Wildenstein after that crazy woman in New York who got her face done over to look like cat. Here's a link.

http://website.lineone.net/~a1/jocelyne/

Okay maybe that's more scary than amusing. Have fun with your kitty.

2. She is a beauty!
I am no good with names. Both of mine are named after heavenly bodies. She looks very sweet.

21. That's what first came into my mind, but I also like Fanny
but I always try different vowel sounds for different pets, so if you alreay have a pet with a short "a" vowel sound, I would go for something else.

My pets are Millie (short i), Siouxsie (long u) and Cosmo(short and long o)

16. Abbott was very difficult
I wanted to name him after Jimmy Page but I had a co-worker with the same name and it seemed weird. I just happen to be reading a biography on Abbie Hoffman so technically his name is Abbie. But Abbie was too cool for a nerd cat like my Abbott and Abbott just seemed to stick with him

19. Echo
Echo, in Greek mythology, mountain nymph. She assisted Zeus in one of his amorous adventures by distracting Hera with her chatter. For this Hera made her unable to speak except to repeat another's last words. She fell in love with Narcissus, but when he rejected her, she pined away until only her voice remained.

26. No - wish I did
I was going to get a kitten and then the bleeding heart liberal thing set in - thought an older kitty was the way to go. This is it for a pic - chose her from a rescue site so haven't seen her yet. Am I brave or what? It'll take some driving to get her.

but that would have been better for an orange cat. Then Ethel Mertz's name came up. I'm going to keep all these in mind - when she's actually here I'll see which fits the best.
