Do all Famous People know each other? Is there a secret handshake?

My friend and I used to talk about this back when Bill Maher first started out with "Politically Incorrect". For those who don't remember, the format was, roughly, taking 4 apparently random celebrities and having them discuss world events or whatever.

So, you'd have, say, Henry Kissinger, Dennis Rodman, Brooke Shields, and Mr. T discussing gay marriage or whatever. Yet there seemed to be some tenuous connection even between the most unrelated celebrities, based on the fact that they were all "in the club" of famous people.
