The new Superman is TALL!!!
From the previews and cast photos I'd seen, I really didn't think he was over 6'. Silly me...

Christian (Batman, 6'2") Bale with Brandon (Superman, 6'3"!) Routh at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards.

1. It's too bad he doesn't look like a superman.
He's too thin and looks too young. Superman is not supposed to look like a teenager!

2. He also looks like a wuss.
Sort of like putting that Napoleon Dynamite in a leotard and calling him Superman.

Not that there aren't some pretty skinny or thin tough guys, but Superman IS befitting of a stereotype.

11. When I first saw the picture
I figured they must be going for a young, novice superman, maybe even a superboy story. But then I read that this movie is supposed to directly follow Superman II. Well, Damn, shouldn't he look older than Christopher Reeves looked?

I thought Christopher Reeves looked a bit dorky as superman. His costume was a bit too pastel, and he didn't come across as strong at all. They corrected the colors a bit, but kept the dork. Napoleon Dynomite is right.

4. That's the odd part...
I thought maybe it was just that I'm older that he seemed so young, so I checked on IMdB-- this guy is a year older than Christopher Reeve was when he first donned the cape. He's got the jaw at least.;)

5. The religious right would RIOT.
I'd love to see a Dr. Strange movie if they could skip the origin story. Could we just once have a superhero movie that doesn't rehash the origin?

8. Wait'll Ghost Rider comes out.
You want a straight up Krakatoa from the rr, that should fuel it.

10. True. If it ever makes it to the big screen.
They've been working on getting that film made for almost a decade.

6. I'd like to see a GOOD Dr. Strange movie...
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 05:03 PM by AmyDeLune
not like that sad TV pilot that was done in the '70's.

Dr. Strange is one of the characters you could skip most of the origin story on and still have a good story. I don't think there should even be an attempt to root it in "plausible reality" though.
