Bats in my belfry
or more accurately my bedroom.

Soooo...the slightest of breezes stirred by quiet, leathery wings awakened me in the dark of night last night.

I knew from previous experience exactly what it was. (I lived for a time in rather ramshackle cabin in the woods) With a sigh I flipped on the light. Sure enough a bat was flapping about my bedroom. Don't ask me how it got in there, but after an amusing chase about the place with a fishing net, I deposited the trespasser back out of doors where it belongs.

There are worse ways to be awoken in the middle of the night I guess, but I can't think of many off the top of my head. <insert creepy bat smiley here>

1. You didn't get bitten, did you????
Be careful, there's been at least 2 cases of human rabies due
to bat bites this season.

So it is the Aussie summer, so I've boxers on (And thus bare legs), and I've kicked off my sheet because it is too hot.... and I am woken by this light, (but pretty fucken creepy) crawling on my legs.... I look down: There are three enourmous spiders. One leaping around like it was on speed and the other two are reared up, fighting each other ON MY LEG! Fucking jumping and biting everywhere! (each other not me, but almost)

FARKING SHIT ARRRRRGH! AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGHH!

7. Aahheeeeeeeee...
you scared all of us. Spiders are nasty. I was trapped in my
car on the way to work one morning when I dumped the newspaper
out of the bag onto the car seat and a HUGE tarantula-sized
brown spider plopped out. Yes, of course I screamed, and
pulled the car over, beating the seat, the floor, the whole
car. Killed it, sigh of relief, and got back on the road.
Aaheeeee, a bazillion baby spiders all over the car seat.
Yes, of course I pulled over again and beat myself along with
the car. It was horrible.

5. I could imagine the screams my wife would make
She freaks out with insects and is terrified of the mouse that keeps evading the trap, a bat would cause mayhem.
