Well I am just pissed off!

I went to replace my Earth Shoes and found out they are now made in china.They certainly didnt drop the price a bit.I happen to notice the made in china label at the register on the box.How utterly greedy do you have to be to charge 99.99 for a pair of sandals and not pay a living wage?I guess another pair of birkenstocks will do me well.

1. Hell, I bought a Nordic Track classic to replace my old

one that had lasted 16 years. The old one was made in Minnesota, the new one was made in China! The new one broke down almost immediately, was repaired under warranty, then broke down again! It took almost three months to to get the right parts after the second breakdown.
I paid $550 for this!

2. there aren't many shoes made in the US anymore

Nike bought Converse a few years ago and now Chucks are made in China. New Balance still makes some of thier shoes in the US, they are prominently labeled as US made when they are.

For what it's worth (not much in my opinion) Earth shoes says they have really strict labor standards at thier chinese factory and maintain a high degree of oversight. I can send you an audio file of an interview about this if you like, I was personally not convinced but :shrug:

The fact they moved to china and still charge way too much for their shoes piss me off to the point I called them and told them where they can stick their shoes.I love that link though!
