Has anyone else ever had a Bone Marrow test?

Mine is due for Tuesday. I've heard it's painful. I've been teetering on canceling because (ok I admit being :scared:) but also because I've already had so many tests done (all of which were negative) that it's making ME testy!

There is/are some sort of abnormality(s) in my blood. My Doctors (plural-I've been refered and refered) don't seem to know what's up, but the Doc they keep sending me back to is an Oncology (Cancer) Doc. :-( I try not to worry, but it's hard. Maybe that's the REAL reason I don't want this test. :hide:

Plus as I said, it's kind of painful or so they say. Has anyone else had one?

1. The specialist is actually a Hematologist-Oncologist. The

specialty is combined. Oncology grew out of Hematology and is a sub set of internal medicine. The first major successes in chemotherapy and oncology were in the leukemia area, which is a blood based cancer.

Hemo/Onc docs still treat weird anemias, sickle cell, and other blood component disorders even if no cancer is present.
