It could still be barking for all I know, but I had to go to work. I was pissed at first, but I have to admit that I am somewhat impressed. I have never heard anything like that.

1. Must be related to the dog across from my place.
Non-stop barking for hours. At absolutely nothing. I am at a loss to understand how it can reach such high decibels. x(

3. When it comes to dogs, you can either feed 'em or shoot 'em
One's illegal

The other will have them begging for more.

Men are no different. :D

17. Remember, that's what OJ's ex-wife's dog did
the night of the murders. Barked, barked, barked.

19. So at least 2 people here live on the same street as OJ's dead wife?

6. I didn't realize we lived on the same street.
It is hard to comprehend. The dog wants something and he thinks the next bark will get it for him? He has no short-term memory?

But it's really about the owner, isn't it?

9. Nice dogs, but the most annoying bark ever.
Really yappy small dogs are annoying too. Large dogs have a less annoying bark. They seem to bark less, too.

8. I have a theory
and it's similar for people who can't seem to stop talking

The vibrations from their larynx stimulates their brain somehow, perhaps stimulating endorphin release.

I know people who just chatter away constantly, whether anyone is listening or not, and it's the only theory that makes sense to me, that the physical sensation is somehow doing something for them.

14. ...?
This one has thrown my mind into a vortex. You may be right. What else makes sense? Granted there are many for whom that most annoying of habits is a psychological problem, but still. We are a carnal folk, there has to be a boner in there somewhere for someone or it wouldn't be as common as it is.

You, my dear sir or madame, are a genius!

16. Why thank you Thom
and it would be madame :)

Here's what led me down this thought path: you know how monks meditate and chant, or hum the "OM"? And how that seems to have an effect on the brain? I think it's the actual vibration of the chant/hum that's doing it, possibly similar to brainwave entrainment.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were research done on this.

But in any case, it just makes sense to me.
