Poll question: Who is your favorite Beatle?
Edited on Fri May-26-06 01:33 PM by Reverend_Smitty
For me it would be a toss-up between John and George...but I guess if you put a gun up to my head and told me to pick one, I guess I'd say John. What says you?

2. I always loved Paul, but now I'm more inclined toward
Ringo. I voted for Paul because that's been my fave most of my life. :) Ringo's my fave now!

But I guess that isn't an appropriate response for the question.

9. I once dated a woman who was proud of looking like John
no, really, it worked. You kind of had to be there. And she most certainly wasn't built like John!

Postscript: There is now a better than even chance that the last surviving Beatle will be Ringo. Think about that...

13. You're right! Ringo's actually older.
It's just that he sang "You're Sixteen" and Paul sang "When I'm Sixty-four", I guess. Or maybe it's that sad-eyed look that Paul has that makes him seem older.

16. Funny thing about Ringo
Everyone thought he was the Beatle with no talent.... but his stock is going up. And in the end he's gonna be the one people remember. The usual answers are Paul or John. The weird amongst us choose George. But in the end... Ringo.

Most of McCartney's stuff was fluff bullshit, even in the later years.

34. Fluff
like "Get Back," "Penny Lane," "Let It Be," "Yesterday," "Fool On The Hill," "Back In The USSR," "Hey, Jude," "Helter Skelter," "Blackbird," "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Paperback Writer," "Good Day Sunshine, "Got To Get You Into My Life," "Long And Winding Road," "Eleanor Rigby," "Magical Mystery Tour," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Fixing A Hole," "Here, There, Everywhere," "Lady Madonna," "Rocky Raccoon" (okay...personal favorite), and the impeccable "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End" medley that closes one of the best album sides ever recorded. Yeah, what a no-talent assclown.

22. Ringo.
I know nothing about their musical abilities as I've never been a Beatles fan - but Ringo reached the very highest levels of culture yet approached by any man, he narrated "Thomas the Tank Engine" on television which was an central part of my childhood.

26. I voted Ringo
But I could have gone for George too; he just had more votes. Ringo and George always were kind of looked down upon by John and Paul, but George was quite possibly a better musician than either of them, and Ringo's charm and good-naturedness are second to none.

27. I voted Paul
Ringo was my favorite growing up; he's just always seemed like such a nice guy. But I think Paul is the most talented musically, and he has the most solo material I like, even if a lot of it is "silly love songs." But I've also become a big George fan in recent years. He seemed to be a really interesting person; very spiritual and cynical at the same time. I can't pick, really; they all fascinate me. I voted Paul in part because I think he gets the most unjustifiably ragged upon.

Both incredibly decent talented people.

And what's wrong with silly love songs?

28. Ringo. He COMPLETELY destroyed traditional thinking.
"We all live in a yellow submarine. A yellow submarine. A yellow submarine."

We all live in a yellow submarine.

Do you know how fucking high they were when he came up with that? Aliens building the pyramids was one thing, but yellow submarine was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out there! Way beyond the aliens!

29. This guy...

Brian Epstein

He had the vision; John, Paul, George, and Ringo had the genius. The Beatles wouldn't have been so phenomenally successful without him.

And he was good-looking!
