I was innocently posting over at a non-political board, when a fellow poster asked me what the 29% in my sig line meant.

Since it's not a political board and I knew the person asking is a Republican, I tried to play nice.

The convo went like this:

Me: It's um...someone's approval ratings. :evilgrin:

Her: You know I can't be handling you turning my thread of all threads into a bash Bush thread! LOL

Me: Hey...you asked! But it's cool, I don't need to bash him. I let the percentages speak for themselves.

Her: Yes, I asked, I didn't say, btw, bash away! Where's mama when I need her?! UGH! See, you just can't let it go, can you.

Me: Not only did I not bash Bush, I didn't even say his name. I said "someone's approval ratings."
Yes, they are Bush's, but how is saying that 29% of Americans approve of the job he's doing "bashing" him? Bashing implies saying things that are either mean or untrue. His ratings are what they are, I didn't make them that way. :shrug:

Her: I'm taking my toys and going home!

What killed me was that she thought I was bashing him. Ummm...no. I said nothing negative whatsoever. Not my fault his approval rating is 29%. But interesting that she took it so badly. ;)
