4. I watched...
Figure I'll buy the series finale. I flipped back and forth between Will and Grace and CSI, and I missed the first 15 minutes.

6. They're releasing a dvd of it, but SPOILERS HERE:

I have to say, I wasn't thrilled with it, but the only way for me to be thrilled with it, frankly, would have been for Will and Grace to get it on and decide they're madly in love with each other. I can see why that wouldn't have worked. :silly:

A few blank lines first...

Here's all that happened, in a paraphrasy way.

Basically, Leo comes back and Grace moves out. Will and Vince end up living together and adopting a baby boy, Ben, about the same age as Leo and Grace's daughter Lila. Will and Grace don't talk for two years because of the way Grace left, but Jack and Karen concoct a way for them to get back together. They hang out like once, and it's implied that while they had a good time, it's hard to make it work with the spouses/kids, etc. There's a HEARTBREAKING scene where both of them are talking to their spouses about how destiny isn't real, even though they thought fate brought them together and they'd always be together.

Meanwhile, Karen ends up poor, and talks Jack into living with Beverly Leslie so Jack can support Karen like she supported him LOL! When she sees he's unhappy, she lets him off the hook...but Beverly Leslie dies before Jack tells him, leaving all his money to Jack. Jack and Karen end up living together for 20 years (and it is SO SWEET, they sing together at the end, you can see the affection, very, very sweet).

Will and Grace's kids end up going to college and meeting the same way that Will and Grace did...and Will/Grace meet up again in the hallway of their dorm. They start their friendship again, their kids get married, and then they meet Jack and Karen for a drink. Very cute.

7. Finales sometimes just don't live up to the whole series. Like
Mad about You, Seinfeld, and Friends felt a bit off for me. But this one sounded kinda cute.

11. It had a "Mad About You" finale vibe to it, I thought.
What with the years going by, falling out, meeting up again...
it bugged me. I don't like the idea that they'd go so long without being together. It actually gave me heart pangs during that scene where they talked about how they weren't meant to be together--and then they WEREN'T, for years! That's not what I wanted for them, LOL, and it reeked of "real life". If I want that, I'll watch the news.

But I think it's because, as I said, I wanted Will to be all of a sudden straight!

It *was* cute, it was. But it was kind of sad, too, and I would have preferred a lighter, funnier, happier thing.

18. The Seinfeld finale was so bad that Frank Sinatra died that night.

21. All correct except one thing (spoiler)
The kid was artificial insemination. Will even mentioned about the egg some girl donated and that he was the father of the kid. You can even see how his kid acts just like him when they flash forward to college. Of course knowing that Grace was about 7 months pregnant when she moved out and it would probably take about a year for Will & Vince to find a donor/surragate and produce a kid it's interesting that they still managed to have both kids about the same age and in college at the same time.

But nonetheless I started bawling when Jack & Karen sang unforgettable. I'll be honest - those two are the reason I kept tuning into the show (and watching the reruns on my local UPN station). Megan Mullally is a great actress (and thankfully doesn't have that whiny nasally voice in real life like Karen has). Her and Jack both have amazing singing voices too.

14. Oh yes. Best part.
Really felt the love between these two, and how much they will miss each other. This duet made it for me.

16. I have to admit -- I teared up a little.
You could see Jack/Sean was really sincerely singing to Karen/Megan. Sweet.

And, call me a sap, but I liked it that Lila and Ben will marry. Perfect.

The time jumping thing, though, in general, is not my favorite technique.

24. Sean Hayes is an accomplished pianist; Mulally a wonderful singer..
their characters on the show hardly gave them the room to express their other talents. Their duet was a really nice touch.

the outtakes are OK but the chit-chat is kinda uninteresting.

17. Final episode was a letdown after all the hype. "Unforgettable" was good.
It was all very similar to the "Seinfeld" finale - kind of a disjointed mishmash of old characters returning, contrived little twists and turns of the plot - really a big disappointment. The best moment was Jack and Karen singing "Unforgettable."

23. I think that I'm the only person on Earth
Who actually liked the Seinfeld finale.

I thought it was pretty brilliant. Have you ever read The Stranger by Camus? It might make a little more sense if you have. (The finale was basically a reworking of that novel but in the Seinfeld universe.)

25. No I haven't read that - maybe it would help me make sense of the
"Seinfeld" finale - but at this point I don't really care any more. I thought the idea of the possible plane crash was a good one, but they didn't really expand that scene out to its full potential. The idea was better utilized in the movie "Almost Famous." The whole idea of putting the characters on trial was a complete dud in my opinion. But I'm glad to hear someone liked it.

19. I have to admit I loved the finale.
When I care about the characters I want to know how things worked out for them. I like to see they are happy.
