Questions about not filling morning after pill?
Ok, so if people have a religious belief and refuse to fill the morning after pill, if a Scientologist is a pharmacist, can he refuse to fill anti-depressants?

1. My guess would be no, because it's all about
going after reproductive rights.

3. But Some Anti-Depressants Can Harm a Fetus
Remember, all American women between puberty and menopause are now considered "pre-pregnant." No woman between 12 and 45 should be allowed to take anti-depressives unless she can prove she is sterilized or infertile. Think of the (imaginary) children!

4. Oh, that's right
So, even though I am perimenopausal, and have had a tubal ligation, I suspect I am still in the pre-pregnant phase of life.

5. There's Still Hope!
You know, women are having babies in their 60s now ... you might not be off the hook! EVER!

16. 45? Try 60
Both my mom and grandmother didn't hit menopause until 60. I'm 45 and I'm not even pre-menopausal yet.

2. I don't know
But if she/he is smart it won't happen. I imagine that psychiatric meds and in particular anti-depressants are probably a large portion of their business.

6. You're exactly right.
They won't stop filling scripts for anti-depressants because there is too much money to be made from them.

They'd damn well better fill my prescription, or they're going to have someone awfully cranky on their hands!

10. Interesting thought.
I would dearly love to see what would come out of someone trying that. And pointing a finger to all those "Christians" who refuse to fill morning after pill scrips.

12. I'm going to get a job as a cashier in a grocery store
and refuse to sell meat. It goes against my deeply held beliefs as a vegetarian.

18. My father-in-law is a retired pharmacist, and
my husband's brother-in-law and sister are both pharmacists, and all of them have said it goes against the professional code of conduct to refuse to fill a legitimately obtained prescription. Hubby's BIL was the president of the state pharmacy board last year, and the pharmacy board censured several pharmacists who decided not to fill prescriptions because of their beliefs. My FIL's private comment to hubby's BIL (he still attends board meetings even though he's retired) was, "If they're so darned religious, they should have become ministers instead of pharmacists!" Among ethical pharmacists, the "pharmacists with a conscience" or whatever the hell they call themselves are seen as religious nuts who are trying to circumvent established rules for their own benefit.
