1. Be very carefuly with that, Floogledy. You have a loose connection...
and it could heat up when under a load. It's probably in the receptacles or a switch.

As an aside, my old guitar is not in the house right now. ;)

3. Thanks, BikeWriter
Everything currently on that circuit (one lamp and a ceiling fan) is turned off.

8. Good, Pard. Either get someone to check it, or...
turn the circuit off at the breaker in daylight and open the boxes and check connections in the boxes and on receptacles and switches. Even better put new ones in. :-)

that faulty circuit can short itself even w/o a load on the circuit. that's a housefire in the making. kill that circuit DEAD @ the 1st opportunity.

floog:
if the breakers aren't marked, plug in a low watt lamp & flip breaker switches till the light goes dead. then call an electrician or a friend that's handy w/ tools in the AM if you don't know how to re-wire

12. It is bad.
The same breaker controls both the east and west sides of my bedroom. But only the west side is acting up.

14. shut it down.
you've likely got a short in a switch or receptacle. receptacle more likely if you've got cats.

you'd best make do w/ an extension from another room &/or a flashlight.

15. Do you have a flush mount ceiling lamp in the shower area?
Sometimes builders install lamps that aren't vapor rated, and condensation gets on the lamp socket wiring causing a short.

For whatever reason, sure hope you went out and turned off your circuit breaker switch to that area. Hope the pronlem's not in the breaker box switch.

Or you could have a bad GFCI that controls that part of the house. Easy to replace. Have done that one a few times.

one of those type receptacles you strip the wire bare and push it into the back of the receptacle, instead of wrapping it around the screw and tightening. Whichever, I hope you find the problem soon, or have it done.

13. Oh no...
You're not using it, are you? You've got the circuit shut off (even if it shuts of the rest of the bedroom...use a flashlight if you need to)?

It's better to be safe, y'know...and get it checked tomorrow...first thing.

16. From your position at the time, are you sure it was "from the left" side
of our "bedroom" or just from the left side of where you were positioned at the time?
