I <3 them. Thier prices are very good and thier staff is very friendly. They have a whole heck of a lot of stuff I can eat, too. Thier bags of vegan chocolate chip cookies are really really good.

13. I know
The funny thing is, later this summer, my family and I are moving to SoCal. When I found out we were getting a TJs, I told my husband, "Yeah right, now that we are moving, the Twin Cities gets a Trader Joe's!"

Oh well.

10. I wish we'd get one.

It's starting to get better, but for the longest time it seemed like nothing ever comes to Memphis. We still don't have a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods. If they come to Tennessee at all, Nashville will probably get it. That's how it usually works.

Now we have two - one within walking distance of my center city office, and one out in the 'burbs.

especially at our age. hehehe. ;)

BTW, I've recently gotten totally hooked on TJ's yellow curry sauce. It's absolutely delicioso. Just pour some of that in with some nice veggie stir fry, over some steamed brown jasmine rice and you're set! Yummmmy! :9

That's it, I gotta go eat something now. LOL.

23. If they built one here
it would just be one more big box eating up farm land to make the suburbanites feel at home. So, I wouldn't shop at it. I get my organics from the farmers market or a co-op.

I HEART TJS! If you're looking for something decadent, try their chocolate frosting in a jar. I stopped making homemade frosting after I tasted it because it's so freaking delicious. MMMMMMM.

27. no thanks, Trader Joe's is just your typical International grocery store
store that you can find in any urban area in America, only with corporate logos and suburban surroundings.

Give me the real thing. It smells worse and costs less dammit!

28. No, you can't "find in any urban area in America," sorry
and some people have one or the other, and not both.

Have a nice day. I'm going to Trader Joe's!

30. perhaps
but here in Dayton, Ohio I've got about 8 mom and pop International Grocery stores within' a 10-mile radius. I've experienced the same in other cities. Maybe in the suburbs, but then again, I am resolutely opposed to suburbanism so...I do my business here in the hood thank you.

God bless,

David

32. Maybe to you, but...
We certainly didn't and still don't have anything else like it on our town of 200,000. Not all of us live in "urban America." Let her rejoice about her Trader Joes.

since they locked their workers out down here (so cal) 2 years ago thanks to TJs. certainly don't mind it, either. good store.

33. Good for you
I really like Trader Joes. Good cheap wine is a main feature. The juice selection is real nice.

Plus they have really good bread. Chain grocery stores bread (bagetttes, Italian etc.) usually has no crust. Trader Joes makes real crusty bread.

I could go on and on. There is one half a mile from my house.

Downside: The wine is good and cheap so I don't mind finishing the bottle. It creates some headaches.

Oh, chocolate covered cherries, too....
