So I made my first alcohol purchase yesterday

At the third one, I finally blurted, "Aren't you gonna ask for my ID?" The guy said, "You act 21."

I have a buddy who told me that at most stores, the guy/gal behind the counter doesn't decide to card you by what age you look (unless you are obviously young) but by the way you set the alcohol down and the way you carry yourself. I guess he must have been right

It was 18 here, though we found a club that would cater to us at 16.

I thought it was 19...at least I'm sure it was when I was in NY, and about 3 months shy of that birthday...they wouldn't let us in to one club - we were ugly Canadians that day, that's for sure...;-) (so we ended up at a washed up Studio 54, which DIDN'T card us)
