I posted a poll in poor taste last night and I apologize.

I have a gallows humor, and shortly after posting it, I thought it may not be kosher.

There were some offended by that post, and I sincerely apologize.

I alerted on it and asked for it to be deleted. I see now it was locked. That is good.

4. I am not sure if it was my alert that locked my post.
I suppose you could alert on it and ask. I don't think that would hurt.

6. We all make regrettable posts now and again. You've apologized for
doing so, which is the honorable thing to do. You have my respect.

12. Perhaps you could explain why you made that post?
I believe you when you say that you are sorry. However, I am not sure if you understand exactly why your post was very, very, wrong.

Have you learned anything? If so, what?

I really have a gallows sense of humor, and it is for a reason. In my career, I deal with and in my life have dealt with some very bad people. I deal with it by laughing at just about anything. Hell, I laughed for an hour after breaking my ankle, once.

That carries over in other areas of my life.

I am certainly aware that some of the things I joke about in reality are bad, but I am able to draw that line.

In posting that here, I didn't think through that it might be offensive. I am sorry I offended DUers.

14. I don't think it was in poor taste, only inaccurate.
Even if Rove goes to "jail", he'll go to a "jail" in which he won't have to face the prospeect of prison rape. He'll be in some "jail" with computer access, multi-line phones, and probably a staff. That is, a nice, resort-style white rich criminal jail, where the worst thing he'll have to worry about is not being raped, but that his foie gras will be overcooked and/or garnished inelegantly.

15. When in VietNam, we'd joke about the "poor" convicts...
stateside, who had to share TV sets and air conditioners with a group of others. It helped break up the monotony.

19. He could go to the same prison Martha was in.
He will get booked in jail. He will probably turn himself in, to avoid the cuffing and the perp walk/frog march.

If he does get convicted, then he will probably go to a fancy prison, as you describe.

LOL, foie gras.

21. I am actually sort of a moderate democrat.
Edited on Mon May-15-06 05:55 PM by nytemare
Thing is, with this administration, even though I was left center, I end up looking far left.

I have this fear that the political pendulum will end up swinging too far left, and dems will end up doing the same sort of dirty crap republicans are doing, now.

I sure hope that doesn't happen.
