2. it was a SAD day when this song became a commercial

GO WHERE YOU WANNA GO
(John Phillips)
The Mamas & The Papas

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You don't understand
That a girl like me can love just one man
Three thousand miles, that's how far you'll go
And you said to me "Please don't follow"

'cause you got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You don't understand
That a girl like me can love just one man
You' been gone a week, and I tried so hard
Not to be the crying kind
Not to be the girl you left behind

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

3. I always was hot for Michelle

4. I didn't know that about why John wore the hats
Record companies have always had a bias against balding guys.

5. Especially in the 60s.

Good god, any musician unlucky to have a receding hairline wouldn't dare do a photo shoot without a big-ass hat.

6. I wonder how successful the Rolling Stones would have been
if Mick Jagger was balding. Some of these rock stars, like Jagger and David Bowie, have some very good hair genes.

7. I like a lot of their songs that didn't make it big. Like 'No Salt on Her
Tail'.

"Look Through My Window", "Step Out", "Glad To Be Unhappy", and their version of the Beatles' "I Call Your Name" are all amazing.

And my favorite has always been "Twelve Thirty".

9. I loved Mama Cass after she went out on her own as well. What was that
song about California earthquakes?

Anyway, TM&TPs were great.

11. "California Earthquake"
I heard they exploded the underground blast
They say its gonna happen - gonna happen at last
That's the way it appears
They tell me the faultline runs right through here

So that maybe that may be
What's gonna happens gonna happen to me
They tell me the faultline runs right through here

Atlantis will rise, Sunset Boulevard will fall
Where the beach used to be won't be nothing at all
That's the way it appears
They tell me the faultline runs right through here

So that maybe that may be
What's gonna happen's gonna happen to me
They tell me the faultline runs right through here
They tell me the faultline runs right through here

14. If Cass had shared that ham sammy with Karen Carpenter,
They might both still be alive.
Seriously, my favorite song of all-time
is "California Dreamin'".
