We've spent too much money lately and we're trying to cool it, so that means no going out to dinner or anything. The only reason we went out for lunch was because my mom sent me a check.

I made the mistake of getting Pride & Prejudice about a month ago, oddly because I wanted to see the new one with Kiera Knightly. Colin's was sitting right next to it on the store shelf and I thought it would be fun to compare and contrast the two versions.

Yes, i like Colin infinitely better; no comparison.

About to put on my make-up and dry my hair,

Then it's crispy beef tacos with salsa verde and fresh cilantro with a Dr Pepper,

Then it's a loud show on the Eastside at 10pm,

Then it's a party I'm hosting at my friend's downtown penthouse while she's out of town!

a highschool championship game. But... it's 40 miles and with gas prices as they are, I'm gonna stay home. So I'll do the DU, catch up on laundry, polish off my final exams, take my dog pee pee outside (that's a big deal around here), maybe make some cookies.

Or... pop in a movie and pop open a brew. That sounds a lot easier.

40. Think I'll crochet another antimacassar.
An antimacassar is a small cloth placed over the backs or arms of chairs, or the head or cushions of a sofa, to prevent soiling of the permanent fabric.

The name is attributable to the unguent for the hair commonly used in the early 19th century, macassar oil—Byron calls it "thine incomparable oil, Macassar."

The fashion for oiled hair became so widespread in Edwardian and Victorian period that housewives began to cover the arms and backs of their chairs with washable cloths to preserve the fabric coverings from being spoilt. Around 1850, these started to be known as antimacassars.

They came to have elaborate patterns, often in matching sets for the various items of parlour furniture; they were either made at home using a variety of techniques such as crochet or tatting, or bought from shops.

The original antimacassar was almost invariably made of white crochet-work, very stiff, hard, and uncomfortable, but in the third quarter of the 19th century it became simpler and less inartistic, and was made of soft coloured stuffs, usually worked with a simple pattern in tinted wools or silk.

84. I'm going to be up late...

working on this enormous pile of legal paperwork for my scholarship foundation.

I'm establishing a foundation that will provide scholarships to GLBT students in need that show promising academic potential. It's been something that I've wanted to do for years.

So hopefully in the next 4 to 6 months or so, I should have the foundation completed, endowment created, and people in place ready for donations :)

But for now, it's this paperwork, research, and finding someone to do the logo design, web site, etc.

Hope you have a good evening! :hi:

89. Oh me too.
I've got a paper, no two papers; a quiz; and three tests to study for. :silly:

But what am I doing right now? Nothing!

:D

My excuse for staying home is, of course, homework. Right now though, i'm eating some tuna and watching TV. :woohoo:
