Mariners sign Guardado!
IT'S OFFICIAL: "EVERYDAY EDDIE" TO JOIN MARINERS PEN
Reliever Signs for 2004, with Options in '05 and '06

The Mariners added another weapon to their bullpen by
signing left-handed pitcher Eddie Guardado today. Guardado
agreed to terms on a contract that could carry him through
the 2006 season.

"Everyday Eddie," one of the most consistent relievers in
baseball over the past two years, had 41 saves in 45 chances
and a 2.89 ERA with the Twins last season. He was also
selected to the A.L. All-Star team for the second consecutive
year. Opposing batters hit just .207 against him, with
left-handers limited to a meager .175 mark with no home runs.

2. big deal
they'll be in the lead at the all star break and refuse to make a move before the trade deadline and end up falling to second behind oakland again :D

5. Maybe.
But if Oakland is foolish enough to sign Cameron, it may be a sign of change out west, especially if Tejada ends up in Seattle.

7. Don't worry
So far the trades have made sense...they gotta find a closer though.

They signed Shannon Stewart which is big...Right now they have a pretty awesome lineup hitting and fielding wise...they need a closer and one more starter. With Guardado gone, they have enough money now to go after someone

8. Woo hoo!
Now if they can sign Tejada and get one more mid-reliever, they'll be OK. Get a top line starter, and they'll be awesome. Trade Winn and the great Rockie Mountain failure to some team for a strong hitting center fielder, and watch out nor'easters!
