Cruise loses credMay 11, 2006
TOM Cruise's recent bizarre behaviour - including jumping on sofas - may have cost him millions at the box office.
"I don't know anybody who has had the consistent success rate that Tom has. And nobody should be counting him out."
Paramount Pictures boss Brad Grey - behind the new movie - added: "He is clearly, on a profit basis as well as a creative basis, one of the biggest stars in the world."
The comments came after a USA Today/Gallup poll showed Cruise's star power in the eyes of the public had collapsed.
The survey in cinemas found 35 per cent had a favorable opinion of him but 51 per cent did not.
That was a reversal of the results last year after War of the Worlds - and fans blamed his on-screen antics.
