Poll question: Vote for your favorite Colin Firth role!
Edited on Wed May-10-06 05:09 PM by supernova
What's your favorite of Colin's roles?

I haven't seen them all yet and I'm enjoying discovering his work. So far I've seen: Pride & Prejudice (of course!), Conspiracy, Bridget Jones Acts I and II, and a guest role he had on BlackAdder Back and Forth as Will Shakespeare.

I'm posting some I haven't seen yet, but hope to soon, thanks to amazon. :-)

"Pear" earring. :eyes: :D

Edit: You know I saw that several months ago, because I'm a big Vermeer fan. I was so interested in how they would stage the paintings, that I didn't realize it was CF! I'll have to go back and watch it for him now.

17. was Girl With a Pearl Earring good?
I keep meaning to read the book and see the movie.

I agree that Firth is very sexy. I liked him in that "girl finds her father in England" movie with Lindsay Lohan, I forget what it was called.

19. What A Girl Wants
is that Lindsay Lohan? I think it's someone else.

It was pretty good for a teen flick though. Or maybe it was just Colin :loveya:

22. A lot of people trashed What a Girl Wants
and you know, for what it is and who it's for, it's a pretty good movie. We should all be so lucky to meet parents who want a relationship with us. To often, teens in that situation don't get that support.

Pride and Prejudice by far, but I really really enjoyed The Girl with the Pearl Earring because of Scarlett Johansson. :)

15. You're not kidding.
As well as his wife, yikes. I agree with you - I also loved how they staged the room for his paintings...it made me re-examine his work and the details in his canvases.

33. Same here
The movie made it feel like he focused on his painting to escape them. I don't know if that's true or not. but wow, I think I'd be painting all day too if I had to live with those two.

8. Bridgit Jones
Because he's had to play every form of Mr. Darcy known to man. I was disappointed that they re-wrote the 2nd script & took out Bridgit's interview with Colin Firth. I wanted to see him play himself AND Mr. Darcy in the same movie!

11. It's in the extras on the DVD
It's quite cute! But they said it was impossible to keep in the movie because it would have been too confusing to have him be Darcy and Himself.

Foreman nails it. And I like Meg Tilly who doesn't seem to work too much. Annette Benning and Jeffrey Jones are in it too.

18. I DREAM of Mr. Darcy.
He's the ultimate in sexy. :P

I didn't particularly care for Colin in "The English Patient." It wasn't really him, it was the role he was playing. The same can be said for his character in "Shakespeare in Love."

28. If I could vote twice
I would vote for Conspiracy and Love Actually. I love all the actors in Love Actually, but the part that I don't understand about that movie is that you have all these A list British actors in the movie and then there is Laura Linney, she just seems out of place.

Although, I think she's a good actress.

edit: I thought Conspiracy was very well done. They handled the subject with the right amount of creepiness to make it so you have to watch it.
