Poll question: Are more DUers left handed or right handed??
Just curious! The wrist watch poll got me thinking ....

(BTW ... I'm only talking about using your hand for things like writing, catching a ball, cutting with scissors and such ... ;-) )

4. Reformed Lefty
Forced to switch in the first grade. Public school too, but no slapping that I can remember. They used to make me sit on my left hand to keep from using it.

Now I'm kind of ambidextrous: I write equally poorly with either hand.

5. Lefty (mostly)
Athletically, though, I am right-handed. Except tennis, where I am no-handed. ;-)

For just about everything else, though, I am a lefty.

6. My right hand is the dominant one ...
but when Windows cam out in the early 90's, it made sense to me to use my left hand for the mouse, and I didn't switch the left/right functionality, freeing my right hand for writing, etc.

On my personal machines, I have the mouse on the left, but I can use either hand.

7. Right-handed for everything except the mouse
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 01:47 PM by JCCyC
I just feel wrong using it at the right side of the keyboard. People see me at a computer and assume I'm left-handed, but I'm actually right-handed.

My 2yo is left-handed. I think it's cool.

Edit: typo

8. Go 2 year old!
My mom is a lefty and so am I ... I have three kids and I think the last one, my son, is FINALLY a lefty! Kind of early to tell (he's a year and a half) but he already colors and uses his fork and spoon with his left hand, so I'm hopeful!

9. Lefty except ...
Using scissors (Mom got lefties for me but I learned RH)
Shooting Pool (Learned from watching others)
Shooting a rifle (I don't, but if I did)
Playing Guitar (Learned from watching others)

I am also a Juggler. I work very hard at making my right (non-dominant) hand as good a thrower as my left (dominant) hand.

Cheers
Drifter

13. One step away from ambidexterous
I'm not quite able to use both hands equally. I really have to concentrate to write left-handed, for example. But I do use and lead with the left hand enough to know that if I should lose my right hand, I could adapt with the left fairly easily.
