Can someone help me with my avatar?

I tried to upload my own and as you can see it didn't turn out well. Any suggestions?

1. The picture's too small.

The system stretches it out to fit the avatar size - hence the distortion.

Do you have a larger version of it?

Otherwise, you could put the picture on a larger white background to that it doesn't stretch.

2. I do have a larger version.

That's what I started with, but it kept saying it was too big. Then I kept shrinking it. Did I go about doing it all wrong. I'm not very good on the computer, other than email and message board type of things.
