8. Cripes I used to work two blocks from Mezzetta's packing plant
on the outskirts of Sonoma, California. The constant smell of them put me off the pepperoncini game for life.

2. These choices are not kinds of pickles.
They're other things.

I refuse to participate in this charade that does not include sweet pickles, baby dills and sliced dills.

it has to have been a cucumber in its previous life to qualify as a "pickle"?

Just askin'. I'm a dill *freak* myself. ;)

I've been on a quest for years.

My mother used to make them, and we always had them with hamburgers and potato salad. I could eat them by the jarful.

31. Watermelon rind pickles. How I miss watermelon rind pickles!
My mother used to grow watermelons and make pickles out of the rinds. Best Pickles Ever! Unfortunately, the thick, pickle-making rinds have been bred out of most watermelons now, and the rinds are too thin to make pickles with.

A few years ago, I found watermelon rind pickles at Cub Foods, and I bought them often. There aren't any Cub Foods where I live now. Any Minnesota (or other Midwest) DUers know if Cub still carries them?
