What did you guys think of former Idol Contestant Kellie Pickler???
I think Kellie got herself voted off because she sounded so lame talking about not having anyone to make pottery with. It was so weird and strange that even Ryan Seacrest didn't know what to say, which is pretty amazing for someone living in a jaded city like LA. Her last two performances before being voted off weren't so bad, but I didn't like her choice of songs. I think she has a very good voice though. She also impressed me on her intial audition for the show.

1. Only a so-so singer, but an enormously entertaining personality. Sorry.

4. Oh that picture is hilarious
I liked Kellie, but she did get alittle phoney toward the end in her play for attention. She should've relied on her singing talent and not her personality so much. I thought she was a very good singer, but she did need some coaching and direction. Not bad for the daughter of a con whose mother abandoned her.

7. She's done very well for herself so far ... with more experience and
training, she could become a top-drawer country star - almost another Dolly Parton or Tanya Tucker.

18. I hated that she got compared to Dolly Parton
Dolly's schtick was never about being a dumb blonde.

22. Nope, Dolly purposely made herself into a trashy pinup.
She has said in interviews that "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap"

Dolly was trashy and maybe a little naughty but she was never dumb.

Or are you just being obnoxious? Save the sarcasm for the mirror.

Awwww... from what I hear, the new album kicks serious ass. They sure did on Letterman last week.

8. She was fun to have around.
But I'm afraid she sabotaged herself when she announced that she didn't have a boyfriend before she sang Unchained Melody. That made the whole deeply-in-love longing over somebody unbelieveable, and destroyed the illusion she needed to create with that performance.

10. IIRC a lot of people on FreeRepublic were rooting for her.
Not that I frequent there often but the odd time I have looked there I have seen a good number of people posting threads about her and hoping that she does well.

She has a good voice. She can do well as a country singer if given the opportunity and the coaching. Maybe she will get that contract?

Mark.

14. She'll have a sitcom in no time
Not a great singer, but that spacey-blonde routine she's doing is weirdly endearing--if Judy Holliday, Marilyn Monroe, and a host of others can make it, she can. Like it or not, she's the American ideal: blonde, thin, big boobs, seemingly not too bright but shrewd, winningly self-deprecating. And the camera loves her.

Yes; I am in NC.
Well; at least Chris is balancing her out............
and to think that he used to work with my best friend a few years ago.

20. It's like Carrie Underwood went out and bought herself a personality - and
became Kellie Pickler - but had to trade in some of her singing talent and a little of her photogenic quality too.

31. *Lipsmacking drool*
:P

YUM!

BTW- Seacrest not knowing what to say is nothign odd as last night showed. I don't think Chris was as shocked at getting booted off as he was confused about whether or not he HAD been booted off. Seacrest is amazingly bad at the most simple fill-in-the-blank hosting job ever. The story goes that he had to have Reuben and Clay's name written down on a piece of paper-he couldn't handle a code name or even a color code for secrecy- and Clay saw that it was Reuben and so that is why he faced towards him as Seacrest made the announcement.

I watch but it is amazing at how little there is to that show. The band is HORRIBLE-they played all over the top of Katharine Tuesday night.

32. Seems nice and genuine
At minimum, smart enough to know that dressing a bit trampy during performances and humping the stage (Queen week) would carry her over better performers. Katherine seemed to pick up on that as well as Kat's been showing a lot more skin lately.

Unlikely to have a significant career in music although she'll likely find some footing in the entertainment industry.
