My dog just survived a near-bath experience...
I gave him a haircut and a bath. You see, I don't know if you have dogs, but my dog is a real butt-head when it comes to being groomed. He is never cooperative, and constantly nips and whines during the whole process. About the only thing nice about giving him a bath is watching him dry off, which is his favorite time too. So now I have a little dog running around acting like a complete and total dork. I wonder how long he can go before he has to take a nap. We'll see.

1. Our pets have a tough life, don't they?
Trying to fit in all those naps is hard work.

2. Try a cat and you'll post: "I just survived a cat-bath experience..."
I only bathed my cat once and that was because she returned covered in oil, so there was no choice. The bathing experience lasted for maybe a minute. I was bleeding all over the place, because she turned really vicious; it was like trying to hold on to one slippery big razor blade which made the most horrible noises...

3. Before bathing a cat, inquire about your local blood bank
Make sure they have plenty of your type ;)

4. My dogs LOVED baths
Mainly because they took them with me. Dixie loved bubble baths - from the time she was a pup, she took bubble baths with me and since I took a bath nearly every evening, it wasn't like I was bathing with a "dirty dog." She also enjoyed having her nails painted (red was a favorite) and would flop on my lap and extend a paw for me to manicure.

Jake, being a more manly sort, preferred showers and his favorite part was when I shampooed him and scritched the bit at the base of his tail real well.

Once I moved to California, I was living in a place which made it more difficult so I'd take them to the local dogwash which they both enjoyed. They are both gone now  but not forgotten.

6. Our dog is the exact same way....
as soon as he even sees a scissors, he turns into a completely different dog. It's a pain to give him a haircut, but I do so that no one else has to be put through that experience. He isn't quite as bad during the bathing process, but we are both happy campers when it's over.
