How to download from Samsung? Unzip?
I *hate* to be asked to do what I know nothing about. I'm extremely low tech, yet, believe it or not, I have friends who ask ME to do techie things.

This time, they lost their disk for Samsung software. They wanted me to download it onto a disk. O.K., found the download site, clicked on it. It says to insert-disk, fine. Nothing happens then. The "insert disk" window stays, with its "cancel" button as the only option.

Is there something about "zipped" going on? How to unzip? Or whatever? Thanks.

1. What is the file named?
How are you trying to load it?

What is supposed to be done by loading the file?

Many questions for you.

http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/Model_Select.aspx?type=Camcorder&typecode=200500&subtype=Digital+Camcorder&subtypecode=200501&model=SCD107&filetype=SW&language=

How loading? Uh, by clicking on the link.

I'm trying to save the software to a disk.

In answering, don't skip ANY steps, not the most basic. Like, if you say, "Unzip," tell me HOW?

Haha, thanks.

7. You mean open directly onto the machine? Nope,
I have been trying to download it onto Drive E: (disk). Didn't want it on the machine, but if that's the only way?

1. There *was* a disk, when it would say, "Insert disk" I inserted it in Drive E: Then nothing happened. The "insert disk" window would just stay there.

2. I just tried downloading directly onto the machine. Nothing. Just a white window, with the title, "Downloading" and "Unknown Zone." Then, it said "Done" at the bottom. Probably this has happened more than once, so there might be junk downloaded SOMEWHERE --where?

Thanks for the attention you're giving this. Am going to have to leave for awhile for some Sunday morning cleansing tasks. Will check back. Thanks, again.

10. The first thing is to download to your computer
In Firefox, I get a message that gives you the option of "Save to disk". I thing IE does something similar. It is a zipped file, which means whoever you give it to will have to unzip it. Windows XP does that as soon as you click on the file.

Once you have the zipped file on your desktop, you will have to burn it to a CD. It is too big for a floppy. Do you have a cd burner? You can use a lot of different programs to burn files.

11. Thanks. I don't see anything on the desktop after supposedly
downloading it into the machine. Yes, there is a cd burner, Drive E. I think I'm calling it "over". My pals put me through these paces all the time. We should know the drill: 1- Pose the drill, help them with something I know nothing about. 2- I try, but rapidly blow my top. 3- They say forget-it. 4- Repeat.

13. It is possible there is something wrong with the file
you are attempting to download so it doesn't show up.
