Is anyone watching Nightline --Competition to get into pre-school

This is nuts.

My friend lives in a fairly affluent suburb of Chicago. His first born was touch-and-go getting into the Catholic pre-school there and his father does the parishes books and he and his wife were alumni. Craaaaaazy...

2. I'll never understand this

When I was a kid (yeah, I know, I know), kindergarten was considered an option. Now there are pre-pre-schools. :wtf:

My daughter is 4-1/2 and is starting to read, yeah it is individual words, but she is starting to see that those letters form words, etc. I did not read into well into first grade.

where people are so competitive they fret over what pre-school their kids go to? :banghead:

It's kind of scary to think about what kind of kids these overanxious would be masters of the universe will turn out.
