Hey Lynnesin! Progspawn is a Led Zeppelin fan.
I think it's mainly because he thinks they're astronauts.

btw - he has also expressed an intense and consistent dislike for Oasis. :)

11. They're only 8
I think they'll get over it. Their dad is a musician so he will soon set them straight.

4. Sounds like the kid has good taste....
I still think "Khasmir" is one of the most perfect songs ever.

And he hates Oasis? Good. Turn him on to Blur.

Of course, given our proclivities.... give him jazz! And from me.... the blues! (Anyone who doesn't know Bessie Smith by heart isn't truly human.)

Cool kid!

Khash.

7. ". . .he thinks they're astronauts"
That is too damn cute.

Funny last year when my kid was in 8th grade all the boys were into classic and progressive rock and all the girls were into rap and hip hop. The girls were in charge of music for the dances. The boys bitched about the music but never tried to organize ANYTHING. They just complained and were miserable.

Too bizarro. I've never seen such acute disparity in musical tastes based on gender alone. Sure when I was young the guys were more often into Metal Bands and the girls were more often into bubble gum crapola but this was even more extreme and very much defied gender stereotypes.

Weird crew.

8. Trust me, I know this from experience...

You try to play more than a few rock songs at a high school dance (or hell, even at a house party these days) and you will be crucified. Even stuff like dance punk. It's not so much a gender thing now, though it used to be when I was in high school. People just don't seem to think you can dance to rock music anymore.

10. I was a huge Springsteen and Stones fan at three.
Fortunately, I take after my father in musical tastes (well, in pretty much everything) because my mother only seems listen to Cher and the BeeGees.
