What, exactly, is "'Weird Al' Karaoke"?

There's a hotel near me in Lancaster, PA that hosts a "Weird Al" karaoke night. I'm not quite sure what this is, but I have several theories:

1. It is karaoke at which people sing both his original material and his parodies.

2. It is karaoke at which people sing his parody lyrics, or those of their own devising.

Have any of you ever been to such a thing, and if so, can you clarify just what it is?
