2. I will!
I was 12 when the series aired in the late 70's. It looks like it has grown up a bit with those of us who enjoyed it back then!

4. It'll be an application of my theory
that only shows worth re-making either as TV series or movies are the failed ones...
Green Hornet: the Movie anyone?
Land of the Giants, the Next Generation?
:)

6. But what was wrong with em...
as men?

There were women Viper pilots on the show already...

It looks like it'll be good though.

5. Not me.
I've been reading some reviews. Some are saying that they mutilated the series. (Not that the series was that good, but Cylons with boobs? :eyes: )

11. Bad reviews are WHY to watch it!
We rented the original series and plan to watch that, then the remake. We LIKE to laugh at bad remakes (never claimed to be normal!)

7. I'll watch it...
But I don't know if I'll laugh or cry.
The old series was bad, but any Science Fiction was better than none at all.
I reserve judgement until I see it.

8. See, I LOVED the original series...
The effects were marginal, but I thought the stories were great.

10. I did, too
The reasoning behind the die-hards not watching just out of GP escapes me. It's been 25 freaking years, get over it!!
We don't get stuff like this very often, I am going to savor every minute of it like I did in 78.

12. Effects don't make a story
Sure, the original series had great (for the time) effects...

But too many of the stories were retreads from movies. For example...

"The Gun on Ice Planet Zero" = The Guns of Navaronne.

9. It looked good over a quarter century ago
today? It just looks tacky and stupid.

I don't know why the SF Channel thought it necessary to use the same title but who really cares?

If this version is more "whiz, bang!" than that version that'll be okay in my book.

Unfortunately, judging by other SF precedents, it'll be pretty stiff. The only original series they had over the last few years was Farscape and they dumped that to get the money for Dune and this one.

Still, hope springs eternal in an SF fans breast.

13. Will try, but I'll probably fall asleep.
I have to be up at 4:30, so I'll be lucky to see the first half hour. I don't have a VCR to record it. Only a DVD player. Lightening struck my satellite dish and fried my TV and VCR, so can't record anything. Bought a new TV and DVD. Guess I'll just have catch the rerun.
