1. I'd have to say Stairway to Heaven, and I love Zeppelin, but that song is
just too much if you hear it more than once a year or so.

The light station at Doctors' offices is what I am exposed to, so that is why I chose these
Oh well!

3. *lol* It's a decent-enough tune, and most people who like Zeppelin like
the guitar solo, but it's long and dramatic and I can only take so much of it!

I'm not a big fan of Zappa, but that's pretty damn funny.

otherwise, it does not seem to get the airtime it used to.

52. I was going to post Stairway to Heaven, too, even though
I am also a Zeppelin fan.

It's just that more than once a year is too much, and you're guaranteed to hear it at the end of every year when the radio stations do the "best ever" countdown or some such thing, so there is no need to hear it the rest of the year :)

57. I have a GREAT memory of Margaritaville
Sitting in a bar with my fun lovin' sister in law in Ithaca New York where drinking in bars was about the only thing you could do in the winter. That song was playing and she was crooning it, 3 sheets to the wind. I used to tell her I had to go home to dry out after visiting her.

25. My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
Actually Celine in general. Radio Tends to do this. Also Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," Hootie & The Blowfish, Mariah Carey etc. They find an artist or a song and play them so much that you get so you hate the song, the singer, and even the mention of their name drives you mad. They can take something perfectly good and make you so sick of it you can never hear it again. Growing up in a town where one of the members of "The Eagles" was from, they played the Eagles so damn much that to this day I can't listen to any of their music, even their solo work just makes me turn the dial so fast it isn't funny.

been used as freaking everything. (Almost sinc sound was put on film might I add! Even the Nazis used it.)

AND THEY KEEP USING THE SAME VERSE!

How many times can I hear an out of context "Freude schöner Götterfunken tochter aus Elysium" before I explode? Once more.

P.S. The 'freak you' thing was just an attention getter. Had to have one this far down the list.

Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
He'll never love you, the way that I love you
'Cause if he did, no no, he wouldn't make you cry
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him, wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Listen to me now
He's never near you to comfort and cheer you
When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na-na na-na-na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye

55. "Escape--The Pina Colada Song"
I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long.
Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song.
So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed.
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read:

"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
I'm the lady you've looked for, write to me, and escape."

I didn't think about my lady, I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half-bad.

"Yes, I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne.
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and cut through all this red tape.
At a bar called O'Malley's, where we'll plan our escape."

So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place.
I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the curve of her face.
It was my own lovely lady, and she said, "Oh, it's you."
And we laughed for a moment, and I said, "I never knew"..

"That you liked Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
And the feel of the ocean, and the taste of champagne.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape."

"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape."

That one?

65. Nugent
Anything by Ted "Pants-Crapper" Nugent. Stranglehold is the worst. Our local classic rock station must play it 4 times each day.

67. Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones
Back in the '80's when it was really popular it was playing on the radio when I got in the car after work. Same station played it again half way home and by the time I was pulling in the driveway in was on the radio yet again! Three times in about 30 min! ugghhh.... :puke:

Maybe ot overplayed on radio, since I don't think I've ever heard it on radio, but it sure the hell is over sung.

70. "I just called to say, 'I love you'" by Stevie Wonder...
it was played ten times too many for my lifetime and it can put me in a bad mood just to have to hear it (again). And I LOVE Stevie Wonder. The other one is "You give love a bad name" by Bon Jovi. For anyone old enough to have lived through the 80's, this song was played NON. STOP. And I love them too.

Thank God both of those artists have so many other redeeming songs.

74. "I Will Always Love You"
I think it was in Britain that some radio station stopped playing the song after numerous callers begged them to stop playing it! I remember hearing that in the news here. I just wish they had done that here. I was sick to death of hearing it! I still can't stand it even if its only played occasionally!

"Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot

It's only been around 15 years, but it's catching up to the others really fast.

I hated that damn song and I hated that damn movie. Every time I heard that song or someone mentioned Titanic, I wasnted to climb to the top of a tall building and jump off it.

Now I don't have anything against Miller, but when I listen to classic rock radio, that song is bound to pop up, even more so than his other hits.
