House Begins Debate On Constitution Amendment Bill (Presidential 3rd Term)
April 24, 2006

After a two-week break, the House of Representatives resumes debate on the Constitution Amendment Bill 2006 expected to dominate the business of the legislative chamber tomorrow.

The resumption of the House comes on the heels of indications that legislators backing the proposal to elongate the tenure of the President from two to three four-year terms have began persuasive moves to woo their colleagues opposed to the agenda or those who have yet to make up their minds.

4. That's the only reason anybody would push for it in the U.S.
It's not a surprise that the Republicans aren't proposing such a measure.
