Wanna fly the new Airbus A380? Here ya go:

Airbus A380

The Airbus A380 is a double-decker, four-engined airliner manufactured by Airbus S.A.S. It first flew on April 27 2005 from Toulouse, France. Commercial flights should begin in late 2006 after 15 months of testing, with the delivery of the first aircraft to launch customer Singapore Airlines. During much of its development phase, the aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX, and the term Superjumbo has become synonymous with the A380.

The A380 is the largest passenger airliner in the world, topping the Boeing 747, which was the largest for 35 years.

The new Airbus will initially be sold in two versions: the A380-800, carrying 555 passengers in a three-class configuration or up to 800 passengers in a single-class economy configuration. Expected range for the -800 model is 15,000 km (8,000 nautical miles). The second model, the A380-800F dedicated freighter, will carry 150 tonnes of cargo 10,400 km (5,600 nautical miles). The A380-900 is a proposed stretch variant, for which the A380's wing was originally designed.

And it carries a flight deck crew of...

1. Actually, it looks very similar to our 737-800 cockpit
The two extra engines and the sidesticks being the obvious difference, of course. Personally, I'll stick with Boeing (unless, of course, my company buys Scarebus products and pays me enough to fly them!)

2. I bet your company took over the dregs of mine.
I won't mention any names, except that I was with TWA.

3. I try to avoid Airbuses. Boeing jets just feel better, IMHO
777 is my favorite!

And no, I am not a Boeing shareholder! Continental is my airline of choice and except for the commuter Embraers and prop-planes, they are all Boeing jets. :-)

4. I'd like some sim time - that would be fun.
Flying the real thing might be fun, but I might want to go to flight school first. :)
