I went 12 rounds with the lawn and the flower beds this weekend, as we had astoundingly beautiful weather in SeattleLand! I am sore from top to toes, but it's a good sort of tired.

So how was everyone else's weekend? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

3. My dear SeattleGirl!
At last, a thread with one of my friends, where I know I'll get responses!

I had a very good weekend.....Got to meet Jerry Brown......and did some useful political work besides, on Saturday....

And today my husband and I went up to Palos Verdes Peninsula, to a church up there, for a chamber music recital....

It was wonderful! I love love love live music!

Good to hear that the rain FINALLY stopped for you...

4. Darlin' Miss Peggy!
Sounds like you had a great weekend too. I saw your thread on meeting Jerry Brown. Sorry I did not respond. I spent most of the weekend outside, which was a nice thing. The weather could not have been more perfect for working in the yard. Sunny, a light breeze, not too warm! But gad, am I tired!

I love live music too, and chamber music is one of my favorite types. That is cool that you and MrCP got to enjoy it!

I don't have any snakes in my yard, but there are lots of bees this yearm so I have to watch out for them.

Despite that, there is something so wonderful about working outdoors, isn't there? At least, I think so. Fresh air, nice weather, the smell of dirt and fresh cut grass! Heaven!

18. I had a wonderful weekend.

The jacuzzi is clean and refilled but the water isn't warm enough yet.

We had to bring in 3 passion flower vines and 5 hibiscus that I put outside too early. x( My bedroom feels like a jungle because the vines are on trellises, one is blooming already. Three of the hibiscus are 5 foot tall. I saw my floor just long enough to clean it before the plants started dripping all over the place.
Ahhh Spring!

40. It was okay.
I was really tired yesterday, so I didn't go out like I normally do. The weather sucked so we ordered in sushi & drank beers in the basement. My sister, her boyfriend and I ended up playing Monopoly. She ended up punching me in the head twice and leaving bumps. Yup, a monopoly game went into physical violence mode. It was like UFC (we're both martial arts people). We really should have outgrown this by now since we're both young adults, but we still tend to throw punches, declare hatred, and be best friends two hours later. So she stormed off and then I played some pool with her boyfriend. After he left, I spent about six hours working on my inherited fish tank, making it not so fucking tacky.

Today, I woke up, wandered around the house, cleaned up the mess left by my fishtank efforts last night (I got done around 4am), had sushi for dinner again (can never have enough), organized my 200 movies alphabetically because I'm neurotic and now here I am.

It's a decent weekend. A few small head injuries, but she apologized this morning, and my fish tank doesn't look like a dollar store explosion anymore.

44. Yeah...it's funny because we look like such opposites.
She's the typical All-American girl and then I'm the pierced/tattooed lesbian, but we're super close. I get along really well with my stepsisters too, even though I didn't even meet them until my mom's wedding day. My mom (who's pretty neurotic & Republican) said to me randomly (while we're in a pool in Maui), "I'm really happy you get along with Jim's daughters. I mean, you have stuff in common with both of them. Amy is very um...democrat, and political, and she thinks really...uh...democratically, and you and Katie both like to party, and you've both failed some classes in college and um...been arrested a couple times." All four sisters agreed that it was the most hilarious thing my mother's ever said. Plus, my stepbrother (only 13) would shock the family if he didn't come out in five years. One night, my stepdad goes (we were drinking and playing pool together) "yeah, so um...we're all pretty sure Chris is gay and you know I'll support him. It's just that I don't know anything about being gay, so when he comes out, you should help him, because you know a lot more about being gay than I do."

We're so oddly dysfunctional. They took us all on their Hawaiian honeymoon. I kept referring to us as the "Dysfunctional Brady Bunch."

42. I survived it
I worked yesterday and then today I cleaned out my closet and fixed up an office for myself...I finally decided that I need (and deserve) a space for ME. One with a door that I can close and everything (we all know that the bathroom doesn't work).

Now I'm tired from moving stuff around all day but that's okay; it's an energizing kind of tired...and I have my space. For now, anyway.
